An effective method in preventing terrorism: Religious education

Abstract

The fact that some people who describe themselves religious or Muslim take part in terrorist actions, which grow as much to pose a threat for the security of individuals, or that they remain indifferent to terrorist actions happening around them, although religion adopts a certain manner against acts of terrorism and violence as a whole, makes us face the truth that religion is not or cannot be explained to society and individuals correctly and efficiently. Besides the fact that it is impossible to annihilate crime and terror entirely in society, one of the most significant ways of succeeding in fighting against and decreasing crime and criminals is to provide individuals with necessary religious education, and to infuse into them religious teachings which require respecting human beings, justice and following rules, in opposition to terrorism, with their true essence. Just as Islam is against terror and violence, religion-based terrorism has got no religious basis, either.
