Ludwig Feuerbach and On Principles of the Philosophy of the Future

Abstract

In this article I am going to discuss German philosopher Ludwig Andreas Feuerbach’s (1804–1872) definition of religion, God, Hegel’s philosophy and his approach to the historical development of religion on the basis of his work, ‘Principles of the Philosophy of the Future’. My purpose is to introduce and provide critical discussion regarding Feuerbach’s view concerning religion, God, Hegel, in the ‘Principles of the Philosophy of the Future’, since Feuerbach’s thought is not well known in Turkey, while it left a considerable influence on the Western thought and its influence has been penetrating into entellectual sphere in Turkey. If we have to condense the whole book of the ‘Principles of the Philosophy of the Future’ into a single sentence, it would be "theology is anthropology". ‘Principles of the Philosophy of the Future’ which clearly shows his departure from Hegelian idealism. His eloquent message remains as fresh and meaningful today as it was written more than 150 years ago. The significance of Feuerbach’s life and thought seems to be increasingly re-recognized in contemporary world

Bu yazıda Alman felsefeci Ludwig Andreas Feuerbach’ın (1804–1872) ‘Geleceğin Felsefesinin İlkeleri’ adlı eserinden hareketle dinin tanımlanması, Tanrı, Hegel, ve dinin tarihsel gelişimi incelenecektir. Amacımız ülkemizde tanınmayan fakat genel olarak çağdaş Batı düşüncesini fazlasıyla etkileyen ülkemizde de farklı yollarla bu etkilerin fazlasıyla hissedilmeye başlandığı Feuerbach’ın genel olarak ‘Geleceğin Felsefesinin İlkeleri’ bağlamında din, Tanrı, Hegel ve bununla alakalı görüşlerini ve eleştirisini sunmak olmuştur. Eğer ‘Geleceğin Felsefesinin İlkeleri’ kitabını tek bir cümlede özetlememiz gerekirse, bu şöyle olabilir, “teoloji antropolojidir.” ‘Geleceğin Felsefesinin İlkeleri’ Hegel’in idealizminde açıkça ayrıldığını da göstermektedir. 150 yıldan daha fazla bir zaman önce yazılmış olan onun anlamlı mesajı bugün yeni ve mana dolu olarak durmaktadır. Feuerbach’ın hayatı ve düşüncesinin önemi çağdaş dünyada gittikçe artan bir şekilde yeniden farkına varıldığı görülmektedir
