A STUDY - CONCERNING THE SOLUTION PROCESS IN TURKEY-RELATED TO HOFSTEDE'S AVOIDANCE OF UNCERTAINTY IN THE CONTEXT OF CULTURAL DIMENCION BEFORE 7th JUNE 2015 PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION

Abstract

An individual's attitudes and behaviours differ depending upon the circumstances in which it is located. In a significant environment in terms of cause and effect, the rational aspects of an individual's attitudes and behaviours dominate. Therefore, an affirmative perspective has control over the individual's attitudes and behaviours. But in the case of increased uncertainty in terms of cause and effect, radical tendency in an individual's attitudes and behaviours are increasing to avoid uncertainty. This case causes the parties diverging from each other in the matter of solutions for social problems.

This study deals with the perception types related to the 'solution process 'that has been initiated for the solution of Kurdish issue in Turkey which is one of the most important problem since the foundation of Republic and the effects of these perception types on the future of solution process. For his purpose, a research has been carried out in Gumushane and Sirnak where different approaches are prevailing about the solution process. In the study with the simple random sampling method, 300 people in Sirnak and 250 people in Gumushane were included with face to face interview. The study, in which five types of perception about the solution process have been revealed, has concluded that those who have an affirmative perspective about the solution process support the continuation of this process and taking further steps about the issue. However, it is clearly seen that those who have concerns or negative perceptions regarding the solution process propose harder and strict actions related to the solution of Kurdish issue. Therefore, in perception types dominated by uncertainty, more radical tendency has been observed in the attitudes about the solution process.
